Chestnut centre pole 5.00 m with pole cap

This chestnut centre pole of 5.00 metres is the longest in the chestnut range and is meant for the largest setups. At 10 to 15 cm in diameter it is also the heaviest of the six: count on two people when raising it. Chestnut is untreated timber with the bark left on: every pole has its own curve and grain, and weathers grey outdoors on its own. The pole cap is included.

When do you choose the 5.00 m centre pole?

This size is for large fabrics and for setups where you want maximum ridge height: plenty of fall in the fabric, plenty of room under the tent, and water that runs off quickly. Pair it with side poles of 3.00 or 3.50 metres. If your tent is smaller or you want an easier build, the 4.50 metre or 4.00 metre centre pole is more practical. Of all the poles in your setup the centre pole takes the highest load, and at this length that counts double.

What fits, and what does not

The pole cap is included. For the foot there is the centre pole holder, which keeps the pole steady in place. Pole socks do not fit: they are made for 51 and 76 mm poles, and this pole is far thicker at 10 to 15 cm. The pole bolt sets are for the side poles, not for the centre pole.
