Chestnut side pole 2.50 m for stretch tents
The side poles set the lowest points of your stretch tent and pull the fabric outwards. This chestnut side pole of 2.50 metres is the shortest size in the chestnut range and gives a low, wide setup. Chestnut is untreated timber with the bark left on: every pole has its own curve and grain, and weathers grey outdoors on its own. It suits weddings and garden parties as much as campsites and glamping, where the tent should sit in the landscape rather than stand out from it.
When do you choose 2.50 m?
The lower your side poles sit relative to the centre pole, the more fall the fabric gets and the faster rainwater runs off. 2.50 metres gives the largest height difference and so the sharpest tent shape, but also the lowest headroom along the edges. If guests walk along the side or you place standing tables under the edge, look at the side pole in 3.00 metres or 3.50 metres.
