Description
Rope grab with handle for 8 to 13 mm rope – for stretch tents
The orange rope grab, also called a hand ascender, is a clamp with a handle that you hang on the rope. It slides along the rope in one direction and locks as soon as you pull back. The handle gives you far more grip than bare rope, so you tension a guy line with less effort. Useful if you set up yourself, and even more so for rental companies tensioning dozens of lines in a day.
How do you use the rope grab?
Hang the grab on the guy line, between the canvas and the peg. Pull the handle: the clamp grips the rope and you bring the line up to tension. Once the canvas sits right, secure the rope with a knot or a rope ratchet block.
Rope grab or Powergrip?
- Rope grab: a pulling aid during set-up. Fits rope from 8 to 13 mm, so all of our tent rope.
- Powergrip hand tensioner: a cleat with a lever that holds the tension, for rope from 3 to 9 mm.
