Description
Aluminium base plate for 51, 76 and 120 mm tent poles
A base plate, also called a pole foot, keeps the bottom of your tent pole in place. The pole stands in a welded sleeve on an aluminium plate. You fix that plate into or onto the ground. This stops the foot of the pole from sliding away when the fabric is under tension or when wind hits the tent. You choose the size based on the diameter of your pole: 51 and 76 mm for aluminium poles, 120 mm for eucalyptus poles.
Which size do you need?
- 51 mm — for 50.8 mm aluminium side poles, such as the aluminium side pole 3 metres.
- 76 mm — for 76 mm aluminium middle poles, such as the aluminium middle pole 5 metres.
- 120 mm — for eucalyptus poles. Wood is a natural product, so the diameter varies from pole to pole. Measure the bottom of your pole before you order.
Fixing: bolts or a peg
On decking, a terrace or another hard surface, you fix the plate with two bolts. On grass or sand, you drive a peg through the large hole. A small peg is enough, for example the ground anchor / tent peg 600 x 20 mm. Bolts and pegs are not included. The base plate works for a tent you put up and take down regularly, and for a tent that stays up all season.
