A stretch tent stands firm because the pegs sit deep in the ground. When you take it down, that works against you. A 1000 x 30 mm ground anchor has most of its length in the ground and is hard to free by hand, especially in hard or wet soil. Pulling and levering by hand takes time and strains your back, arms and hands.
Why a peg puller?
A peg puller works with a lever. You set it against the head of the peg and push the long arm down. The lever multiplies your force, so the peg comes up in a controlled way. No digging, and your back doesn't do the work.
That matters most in rental and at events, where you pull dozens of pegs after every job. But even if you take down your own tent once a year, you will notice the difference.
How to pull a peg out of the ground
- First take the rope off the peg, so the head is free.
- Set the peg puller against the head of the peg.
- Push the arm down. The lever pulls the peg up.
- Still stuck? Reset the puller and repeat.
Which peg puller do you choose?
We sell two peg pullers. Both work with a lever and fit every peg in our range, from 20 to 35 mm in diameter.
Yellow peg puller: for frequent use
The yellow one is the better quality and makes even more use of the lever, so each peg takes less force. At 145 cm long it gives you plenty of leverage. The one to choose if you work with stretch tents often, in rental or at events.
Peg puller 20-35 mm own brand: for occasional use
It works on the same principle but is slightly less easy to use than the yellow one. If you take down your own tent a few times a year, or work with smaller set-ups, it is a good choice.
The heavier the peg, the more it helps
The 1000 x 30 mm ground anchor is the standard size for stretch tents. The 1000 x 35 mm is heavier and holds even tighter. With those sizes a peg puller saves you the most effort.
